This hive was designed by the master beekeeper Aay Lao, for easy inspection and harvesting and as a training tool for the basic beekeeping workshops

Honey harvest is done in the villages. Every beekeeping group is monitored to produce good quality honey: Water content of the honey is low to avoid fermentation, the honey is raw, without heating up, and the way of harvesting is sustainable so colonies do not get destroyed.
